The European Patent Office has granted Plasfer's key composition-of-matter and process patent, establishing a robust IP moat around the PTT platform across all therapeutic verticals.
Plasfer is pleased to announce the grant of European patent EP 2 951 292 B1, covering the kit composition and process underlying the company’s proprietary Platelet Transfer Technology (PTT).
The granted patent protects the core method by which any class of therapeutic payload — including small molecules, proteins, mRNA, siRNA, and other genetic cargoes — can be loaded into platelets or platelet-derived microparticles via a rapid, GMP-compatible process.
A platform-level competitive moat
Unlike payload-specific IP, EP 2 951 292 B1 covers the loading process itself, meaning the protection extends across all of Plasfer’s programmes:
- PLA-REGEN (regenerative medicine / RNA-enriched PRP)
- PLA-CHEMO series (chemotherapy payload delivery)
- PLA-ONCO series (genetic payload delivery to solid tumours)
